Ever fancied building your own 24/7 online radio station which pumps out your favourite tracks whenever you go to the website or even fire up a hybrid app on your phone?
To do this easily, you need an onsite music streaming site that allows you to build playlists and schedule them. Second, the site needs to be able to embed in your own website with some kind of widget. Also – being a free service would be nice too, but this probably requires adverts to be played during your playlists (big deal)… so a bit like free Spotify service anyway.
Some sites I found to help enable this, Airtime Pro offers a free trial then $10 a month, theres some impressive features such as DJ management, embedded widgets etc. Radionomy looks to have everything you need and its free! a nice video overview is here.. you can also go live at any time and even earn $$ from embedded ads…I found this example website (looks like WordPress, with Radionomy player embedded). Here’s another useful guide to Radionomy
Update January 2016
Another streaming site similar to Soundcloud could be an option (to avoid Radionomy strict listener figures and account shutdown!), Hearthis.at allows you to upload unlimited mp3 recordings, on a page, that can then be embedded in a site using a WordPress plugin.
